For fans of the iconic Explorer utility vehicle, the new model year is a big one, as the 2020 Ford Explorer in Green Bay WI has been completely overhauled and redesigned from the ground up as it enters the next generation. So much is new in the 2020 Explorer, from its design to its powertrain options to its safety features and tons of things in between. We’re so pleased to be able to offer you the freshest take on this classic SUV.
The iconic Ford Explorer has now been a member of the lineup for nearly 30 years, after its initial introduction during the 1991 model year. It has undergone several generational shifts throughout the years, with its most recent occurring back in 2011. Now, the Explorer kicks off its new journey entering its sixth generation for the 2020 model year.
So much is new, we’re stoked about it. There are four new engine options from which to choose, including a 2.3L EcoBoost I-4, a 3.0L EcoBoost V6, a 3.3L Ti-VCT (which is only available on fleet vehicles) and a 3.3L Hybrid powertrain option. Yes, a hybrid option. The Ford Explorer is now available as a hybrid vehicle, and we couldn’t be more pleased!
There’s also a ton of new technologies, especially driver-assistive safety features. For instance, the display audio screen is now a 10.1” LCD capacitive portrait touchscreen. The Ford Co-Pilot360 comes standard on the XLT trim level, featuring auto high-beam headlamps, Blind Spot Information System with Cross-Traffic Alert, the Lane-Keeping System, Pre-Collision Assist with Automatic Emergency Braking and a rearview camera. Then Ford Co-Pilot360 Assist+ is available, or standard on the other trim levels. It adds intelligent adaptive cruise control, evasive steering assist and a voice-activated display audio system.
Other new technologies include Active Park Assist 2.0, Post-Collision Braking and Reverse Brake Assist. If you’re interested in making one of the all-new 2020 Ford Explorer models your own, be sure to get in touch with us right here at Broadway Automotive today.
