Just a couple of years ago, Hyundai started a sort of revolution for its brand. They pulled the Hyundai Genesis from their lineup at the end of the 2016 model year, using it instead to create the luxury Genesis brand. Then in 2017 the brand redesigned the Elantra and introduced the Hyundai Ioniq, an incredibly efficient compact hybrid sedan. Since then, more models have been redesigned and even more models have joined the lineup, including the Kona, Palisade and Venue. Now, we present to you the 2019 Hyundai Ioniq in Green Bay WI, the newest version of the first brand-new vehicle to kick off the brand’s revolution.
The Ioniq doesn’t have a lot of time under its belt yet, but it has had enough time to improve year after year, even introducing an Electric and a Plug-in version to select markets around the nation and world.
After a vehicle gets redesigned, it usually doesn’t need any further updates or enhancements for the next couple of years. That’s not always the case for brand-new vehicles like the Ioniq was recently. Instead, the engineers continue to better what they built each year, building on lacking areas they hadn’t foreseen and enhancing others to boot. For 2019, several subtle changes were made to make the Ioniq even better. The multimedia & navigation system uses a new program for its point of interest search, Driver Attention Warning and High Beam Assist are now available technologies after being combined with the Lane Keep Assist System and HID or LED headlights respectively.
There were some packaging changes as well. For instance, the SEL trim level has now standardized Automatic Emergency Braking with pedestrian detection, Lane Keep Assist, Smart Cruise Control and Driver Attention Warning, plus everything that was originally a part of the SEL Tech package. For the Limited trim level, the same technologies have been made standard along with the addition of High Beam Assist.
To remind you of just how efficient the Ioniq is, the base trim level is powered by a 1.6L 4-cylinder engine that achieves 58 miles per gallon combined. If you’re interested in a 2019 Ioniq Hybrid of your own, be sure to get in touch with us by filling out a form right here on our website.
