Which Ford Models Have 4-Wheel or All-Wheel Drive?

Sometimes, you need just a little more traction and power than two wheels. Ford understands this, which is why so many of the models in their lineup come with either all-wheel or 4-wheel drive. So, which models have which? We’ll show you which Ford models offer the available AWD and 4WD, right here! 

Before we get into the models, some may be wondering what exactly it means when a vehicle has 4-wheel drive or the available Intelligent all-wheel drive from Ford. The Intelligent AWD means that the model will calculate road conditions and other factors and adjust torque and power accordingly.

4WD, on the other hand, is for extraordinary terrain or when you need incredible power and torque. For many drivers, when they here AWD or 4WD, they basically think they’re the same thing. That may be sort of true but ignores some key differences between the two. For starters, AWD is always functioning as the default mode, there’s no switching on and off for drivers. 4WD, on the other hand, is something drivers can use at their discretion whether it’s because of off-road terrain or, for example, taking the boat out of the water. This is why AWD is generally found in cars and SUVs and 4WD is more common in pickup trucks.
