Memorial Day Open House at the Gardens – Green Bay Botanical Gardens

Celebrate Memorial Day surrounded by the beauty of the Green Bay Botanical Gardens. The Gardens are open from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. and admission will be free for all military personnel and veterans. General Adult Admission is $9. Learn more here 

A Soldier’s Remembrance – Heritage Hill

There will be a free ceremony at the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier with Green Bay area veterans groups and the Heritage Hill Fort Howard Guard. This event runs 10 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., though we assume that the ceremony is at the beginning of the day. Regular admissions rates ($10 for adults, $7 for kids) will apply after the ceremony. Celebrate De Pere – Voyager Park De Pere (all weekend)

The Celebrate De Pere festival will run from Saturday, May 28 through Memorial Day Monday, May 30, and admission is free all weekend for veterans and current military personnel with proof of service. The gates will open at 11 a.m. on Memorial Day, with a Veteran’s Salute Ceremony at 12:15 on the Main Stage. Cost on Memorial Day is a free will offering to support veteran’s organizations. Prices Saturday and Sunday are $5 before 7 p.m. and $10 after. Learn more here.

Artwork by Veterans – Trout Museum of Art, Appleton (All May)

If you are looking for something a little different this Memorial Day weekend, visit the Trout Museum of Art in Appleton. The works of art in this exhibit offer an understanding of military service through the eyes of veterans. The museum is closed on Mondays (including Memorial Day), but offers free admission to this exhibit all other days 10 a.m to 4 p.m. Learn more here.
