How many passengers does the VW Atlas seat?

2018 Volkswagen Atlas Seating Capacity

The people’s car brand has long been a go-to for many drivers thanks to it efficient and versatile vehicles, but there’s one demographic that has been lacking in recent years and that is parents of large and growing families. That’s all about to change with the release of the all-new 2018 Volkswagen Atlas, which offers the highest seating capacity in the brand’s current lineup.

While there’s plenty of room inside the VW Tiguan, Touareg and Golf SportWagen for smaller families to drive comfortably, for anyone that needs more than seating for five, the Volkswagen brand lacked a vehicle to accommodate them. Now with the 2018 Volkswagen Atlas available to drivers, the three-row SUV is ready to transport the whole family and then some.

As we mentioned, the VW Atlas comes with three rows of seating compared to the Tiguan and Touareg’s two. This allows it to have a spacious amount of passenger space, with a maximum seating capacity of seven. Behind the driver and front passenger, there is space for three to sit on the second row seat. Behind that is a two-seater bench seat for additional passengers.

To add to the versatility of the Atlas, you can fold any combination of seats down to expand the Atlas interior cargo space wherever it’s needed. This gives the Atlas a level of utility that’s sure to come in handy for families.
