We finally get a look at the street version of the new Chevy SS.
As if it hasn’t been a big year for Chevy already, the company recently unveiled yet another new model. And while it will eventually be available for purchase, you might first see it on the racetrack. That’s because the vehicle in questions is the new 2014 Chevy SS. This rear-wheel drive powerhouse from Chevy is the new model of choice for the NASCAR circuit – but a similar version will be coming for sale soon.
So what can interested consumers expect from the new 2014 Chevy SS? Well, the car will be fitted with an impressive LS3 Chevy V8 engine that will have output of 415 horsepower and 415 pound-feet of torque. Obviously, this will be a car that will rely heavily on its awesome performance numbers.
A six-speed automatic transmission will control all of that power, and drivers will even have the option of shifting the vehicle themselves with the TAPshift paddles that will be on the steering wheel. The combination of all the performance elements will allow the new 2014 Chevy SS to accelerate from 0-60 in approximately five seconds.
Top-notch suspension pieces, Brembo brakes, high-performance Bridgestone tires and much more will complete the deal on this new Chevy performance car. At Broadway Automotive, we would welcome the new Chevy SS to our lineup of new Chevy cars in Green Bay.
“The comfort, convenience, spaciousness and V8 power make the SS a total performance package unlike any other on the road today,” said Mark Reuss of GM North America.
It’s pretty obvious that the new 2014 Chevy SS will be making a big statement on and off the racetrack. We won’t see the new SS on the roads until the late portion of 2013. Until then, we’ll have to follow it in the NASCAR ranks!
