2018 Volkswagen Atlas Engine Options
The spotlight has been on the upcoming 2018 Volkswagen Atlas since its introduction. Families and weekend warriors alike have been anxious to learn more about the highly-anticipated 3-row SUV. Here at Broadway Automotive, we’re as excited as you are to have the Atlas join our lineup, as it offers drivers a fresh new option within the full-sized SUV segment thanks to its impressive engine options.
For the 2018 Volkswagen Atlas, there will be two engine options for buyers to choose from. At its base, the Atlas will be equipped with a 2.0-liter turbocharged, direct-injection TSI 4-cylinder engine. This engine option is expected to achieve a rating of 238 horsepower, however its fuel economy has yet to be released.
To get more power out of the Atlas, drivers can instead opt for its second engine option. Available at higher trim levels is its 3.6-liter VR6 engine which offers an increased horsepower rating of 280. Like the first engine, the EPA has yet to release its fuel economy estimates, but we expect them to arrive closer to its release.
Both of these engine options will come paired to an eight-speed automatic transmission in order to get the best of both worlds — efficiency and performance. 4Motion all-wheel drive will also be available with models equipped with its V6 engine.
